What Is A Toast Cup

If you are looking for something easy to make for your next party, then these little toast cups would make the perfect food to serve.

This dainty little cups made from slices of bread make a wonderful treat for serving numerous foods. They are quick and easy to make at a moments notice to the unexpected guest or just for serving at family dinner.

They also make for a great appetizer dish for individual chicken salads or dips of any kind and they would be great for taking to the next party to add to the buffet table.

Basic Toast Cups

Here are the instructions for making this easy treat at home.

Ingredients:

Slices of white bread

Soft butter

Muffin tins (regular or mini)

Directions:

Cut the crusts off the bread and using a rolling pin, compress and slightly stretch each slice. With a cookie or pastry cutter, cut out rounds of bread, each big enough to line the bottom and sides of a single muffin cup.

Butter both sides of the bread circles and press them into the muffin cups. Bake in the muffins cups in a 375 degree oven until the toast cups are golden brown.

Remove them from the muffin cups and fill with chicken salad or your favorite appetizer dip.

Pizza Toast Cups

Ingredients:

olive oil, for muffin pan

all-purpose flour, for rolling

6 slices fresh bread, with crust removed

coarse salt and ground pepper

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella(4 ounces)

1 large tomato, coarsely chopped

desired toppings, such as cooked vegetables, pineapple and ham, or pepperoni

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly brush 6 standard muffin cups with oil. Place a bread square inside each muffin cup and push to insert it to the bottom of the cup. Place the muffin cups in a preheated oven until the bread is slightly toasted. Remove this from the oven and let cool.

Sprinkle each bread cup with 1 tablespoon each cheese and tomato. Add desired toppings and another tablespoon each cheese and tomato.


Bake until the cheese is bubbling and hot. Let cool 2 min­utes before removing from cups.

Bacon And Egg Toast Cups

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons unsalted butter,melted

8 slices white orwhole-wheat sandwich bread

6 slices bacon

6 large eggs

coarse salt and ground pepper

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly butter 6 standard muffin cups. With a roll­ing pin, flatten bread slices slightly and, with a 4 ¼ inch cookie cutter, cut into 8 rounds. Cut each round in half, then press 2 halves into each muffin cup, overlapping slightly and making sure bread comes up to edge of cup. Use extra bread to patch any gaps. Brush bread with remain­ing butter.

In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium, until almost crisp, 4 min­utes, flipping once. (It will continue to cook in the oven.) Lay 1 bacon slice
in each bread cup and crack an egg over each. Season with salt and
pepper. Bake until egg whites are just set, 20 to 25 minutes. Run a small
knife around cups to loosen toasts. Serve immediately.
